A Place in History ...

A bit of SULS trivia: This is the playbill to the original production of "Sophisticated Ladies" starring Duke Ellington's Big Band and a host of notable artists like Phyllis Hyman, Gregory & Maurice Hines, and Mercedes Ellington, The Dukes' granddaughter. The SULS Concert Choir saw this first hand on a trip to NYC in 1982. Members of the classes of"82,'83, '84, and '85 competed and won a national competition. Although, our coveted trophy burned in the school office during the fire later that year, we will never forget what was the most of our first trip to the Big Apple.
